Complete Palm Set-up Guide (Windows Vista / 7)
1. INSTALL PALM DESKTOP
Click on the link below to download the Palm Desktop installer
- Palm Desktop v6.2 ( suitable for Windows Vista / 7 )
Once the file is downloaded, double click on it to run it. This
will install the Palm Desktop Software.
Once the Palm Desktop has
installed, you must
perform a HotSync to confirm the software has installed correctly.
When the HotSync is functioning correctly, right click on the
HotSync Icon and click on Exit to close the HotSync manager.
If you are using a Blue industriual Meazura, then you will need to install a USB
driver. These can be found here
2. INSTALL COLLECT FOR PALM OS
If Collect is not installed on the Palm, click the link below,
if it is already installed, move on to step 3.
Clicking the above link will bring up the Palm Install Tool.
Select the correct user from the drop down list and click
Collect for Palm OS will now be installed during the next
3. DOWNLOAD COLLECT CONDUIT
Click each of the three files below, and choose to save them
into the Downloads folder. Typically, this is
C:\Users\Username\Downloads. Install files for Collect Conduit:
4. INSTALL COLLECT CONDUIT
The Hotsync Manager must be closed before
completing this step.
Once the files are saved into the Downloads directory, run the
Palm COM installer by double clicking on it.
Double click on Collectcond(.reg). This will add the details to
Click Start and type in cmd.
Command Prompt should appear in the search results. Right click
on it and choose Run as Administrator.
In the Command Prompt window that opens, enter:
Press the enter key and a confirmation box should appear
confirming that the file is registered.
Restart the HotSync manager by clicking on:
Start > Programs > Palm Desktop > Hot Sync Manager.
You can check that the Conduit is now working by performing a
HotSync, whereby the Collect Interface Conduit will appear towards
the end of the HotSync.
